At left, Modesto Symphony Orchestra Marketing Director Lisa Desfaugeres and symphony President and CEO Paul Jan Zdunek carry the scalloped shell fan that carried a Venus created from the body of a cello that pays homage to Boticelli's "Birth of Venus" for the organization's sucessful "Cellobration." They are carrying the display from the Mistlin Gallery on J Street to the Stanislaus County Free Library, about six city blocks away. The symphony invited local Modesto area artists to interpret and decorate donated cellos in works of art to be auctioned as a fundraiser for the Modesto Symphony Orchestra. I like the bottom photo in particular, reminds me of Abby Road...
